The love of words, ideas, creation,
The thrill and splendor of imagination.
Books have always my island retreat, an oasis of calm, an escape to other worlds. I have self-identified as a Reader nearly all my life, and my self-identification as Writer was not far behind. I have always been fascinated by the process through which ideas and thoughts are formed into words. Short stories, novels, poems, essays... I enjoy a wide variety of writing formats.
I'm a college student in my Senior year, and since I am now working part-time as well, I don't have as much free time as I did last year. I still do spend quite a bit of time on fandom-related activities, however. I particularly enjoy participating in "intellectual" HP discussions; until recently I spent almost all of my fandom time at the SugarQuill forums, but since discovering![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif)
hp_essays, I've been doing quite a bit of discussion here on LiveJournal as well. Included in this journal are essays and more informal questions/thoughts regarding various HP issues; updates on the progress of my own fanfic; and the occasional meme or personal post.
I welcome friends, though I do not always "friend" back; this is mainly dependent on the "rating" of a journal and/or the percentage of RL content to HP-fandom content. However, I try to reply to all the comments that are left in my journal, and I am always very grateful for any and all feedback.
The fanfic that I am in the process of writing, The Phoenix and the Serpent, can be found here, and I'm almost finished the first draft of a YA fantasy novel as well.
